If you don’t believe that that you toddler is growing up at lightening speed, take a look in their closet. There is something about packing away my daughter’s outgrown clothes that makes me so sad. The realization that she is not a baby anymore is almost surreal. As I put away her 18 – 24 months clothes, I can’t help wondering how these past two & a half years went by so quickly.
She is becoming less and less dependent on mommy. The phrase, “I can do it.” has become a more common expression these days. She no longer wants to sit on mommy’s lap to read her bedtime stories before I kiss her goodnight. “I sit in the big girl bed & read stories.” What happened to my little girl?
This weekend my husband & I left for an out of state wedding. It was the first time that we have gotten away together since she was born. When we got back, I swear she got bigger. She even acted older. STOP GROWING SO FAST. I know everyone says that two is terrible & believe me we have contended with some fits & tantrums, but this has been by far my favorite age. With only infancy & year one to choose from, I suppose it was an easy choice, but I am not quite ready for her to slide into her 3’s just yet.
So Mai, do Mommy a favor & slow it down a little & maybe tonight let mommy read you a book while you sit on her lap.

I know this feeling well and still can’t believe my oldest will be starting kindergarten in the fall!
I found myself crying as I bagged up her old clothes. I will probably need therapy when she goes to kindergarten. Good luck mama.
I avoid going through my daughter’s clothes until I absolutely have to. I can’t believe my last baby will be 3 next month!
It’s crazy. I sometimes still am in disbelief that I am a mommy. Lol. How do we lose this time so quickly?

I’ve gone through my daughters baby bins of clothes a few times and she’s not even 2 yet. I’ve cried every time. Haha. But seriously they grow ridiculously fast!
Omg! I cried too. I wish I could freeze some of these moments, but she just keeps growing.

While I am enjoying her evolve into the little lady that she is becoming, I do wish it was at a slower pace. They don’t joke when they say it goes by in a blink.
My second is 14 months old now and I have a huge box full of small clothes and beautiful memories. Each onesie has a story. Every stain take me back. I stared at the box for a whole yesterday, and although the responsible thing to do would be to give them away to the less fortunate, I can’t get myself to do anything for now. It’s really very painful.
I have every stitch of clothing as well. I am holding on to them, maybe in hopes for baby #2 or to pass them off to my little sister someday. I don’t know, but I can’t part with mine either.
I am going through this exact same thing right now as well. So happy to see my little one growing and becoming more independent but at the same time I wish over and over that she would stay small forever.
I know. It is a tough one. It is great watching them grow, learn and develop into these little people. If only they could do it slower.
I did this again a few weeks bag, yet another bag of clothes that he has grown out of, off up to the loft for baby number 2 whenever that may happen in the future! I was away with work last month for 6 days and when I got back, his whole face had changed. It is just unbelievable how quickly they grow up!
This is true. I couldn’t believe how much she changed to me in just a weekend. I can’t imagine a whole week. They do literally grow overnight.
